چکیده
This paper is the second in a set of two investigating tilt-to-length (TTL) coupling. TTL describes cross-coupling angular or translational jitter into an interferometric phase signal and important noise source precision interferometers, including space gravitational wave detectors like LISA. Precision Length Measurements by Multi-Wavelength Interferometry
Three different applications of multi-wavelength interferometry are reviewed which have been developed at PTB. They demonstrate the high precision achievable by this technique on multiple scales, from absolute geodetic distances up to 10 m, over prismatic bodies, e.g. gauge blocks, in the sub-meter regime, down to the microscopic roughness of surfaces.
متن کاملSpatial Non-Cyclic Geometric Phase in Neutron Interferometry
We present a split-beam neutron interferometric experiment to test the non-cyclic geometric phase tied to the spatial evolution of the system: the subjacent two-dimensional Hilbert space is spanned by the two possible paths in the interferometer and the evolution of the state is controlled by phase shifters and absorbers. A related experiment was reported previously by some of the authors to ve...
متن کاملHeight and Tilt Geometric Texture
We propose a new intrinsic representation of geometric texture over triangle meshes. Our approach extends the conventional height field texture representation by incorporating displacements in the tangential plane in the form of a normal tilt. This texture representation offers a good practical compromise between functionality and simplicity: it can efficiently handle and process geometric text...
متن کاملExperimental demonstration of reduced tilt-to-length coupling by a two-lens imaging system.
The coupling between beam tilt and longitudinal path length readout in a setup representing a LISA test mass interferometer was reduced to below 2 µm/rad using a two lens imaging system. This was achieved by the use of a homodyne equal arm-length Mach-Zehnder interferometer and suppression of the dominating effects of higher order Gaussian modes and longitudinal actuator movement. The latter wa...
متن کاملGeometric Landau-Zener interferometry.
We propose a new type of interferometry, based on geometric phases accumulated by a periodically driven two-level system undergoing multiple Landau-Zener transitions. As a specific example, we study its implementation in a superconducting charge pump. We find that interference patterns appear as a function of the pumping frequency and the phase bias, and clearly manifest themselves in the pumpe...
